Arise Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction is the practice of listening through prayer and conversation with a fellow traveler in Christ. Jesus often retreated to quiet spaces to pray and be still. So is the invitation of Spiritual Direction. We combine the practice of being with God with the prayerful presence of a companion.
Spiritual Direction is the gift of:
Reminding you of God’s love, care and constancy through all of life’s circumstances.
Lifting you before God while you struggle with issues that aren’t solved quickly or easily.
Staying awake with you on the road when you are spiritually weary.
Holding you in prayerful presence, valuing and loving you in Christ

Spiritual Direction focuses on listening and responding to God’s loving voice. Together, we notice, reflect, and pay attention to God’s activity within your own life story. We trust the Holy Spirit’s presence to guide us as we listen together.
Spiritual Direction is one of various spiritual practices where God shapes and transforms us as we trust Him.
Spiritual Direction is not meant to replace other forms of helping ministries such as biblical, pastoral, or psychological counseling.
What does a Spiritual Direction session look like?
Spiritual Direction invites a one-on-one conversation in a safe space where we slow down and give time for you to explore your life with God. You are invited to offer questions and wondering, struggles and confessions. In this time, as your listening companion, I come to each session from a place of prayer. Within the hour, you and I are guided by the Holy Spirit through moments of contemplative silence, reflection, and conversation all the while trusting that God is lovingly at work.
Each session is about an hour. Come as you are.
